In 1998, the NOMEN cleat was honoured with the Federal Product Design Award, today called German Design Award. This competition is one of the most widely recognised international design awards, honouring first-rate entries in the field of product and communications design. Prizes will only be awarded to projects that truly represent pioneering contributions to the German and international design landscape.

NOMEN Cleat-2-CLIP always remains closed, even in case of belaying. During belaying the moving ends give way readily. The line can simply be wound around the rigid part of the cleat without having to activate any mechanism. The round rotary end pieces keep the cleat firmly closed so no lines can get caught and nobody can be injured.

NOMEN Cleat-3-SPORT – our light version of NOMEN Cleat 1.

With the SPORT cleat, we present a contemporary version of the well-known NOMEN cleat. In addition to a sleeker appearance and softer shape, Cleat 3 offers several advantages.

NOMEN Klampe-4-PLAT – the perfect solution for platforms

With the new Platform-Cleat we offer a solution for bathing platforms or beach clubs on large yachts as well as for movable platforms that are installed in the hull in order to close boat garages or equipment stores (e.g. for sports equipment). When the boat garage is opened, the door forms a platform at the side of the hull where boats can be moored. 

There are two standard versions available, the stainless version "PURE Stainless" and the stainless/wood-version "PURE Wood", which is coated with the innovative and sustainable TESUMO-wood, www.tesumo.com.

The stainless-version "PURE stainless", depending on the owner's wishes, offers also the possiblity to incorporate patterns, emblems, or similar graphic elements into the cover plate in order to individualize the surface.

It is an elegantly bowed aluminium device inside which two polyamide rollers rotate on stainless steel axles. The closed and technically simple structure ensures that nothing can get caught up in the fairlead and that mooring lines are led securely and expediently from boat to land.

Special one-off designs for the toe rail

To ensure the overall harmony of boat and fairlead, we can integrate the NOMEN fairlead in the toe rail of your boat. To do this we coordinate our data with your yacht designer. We look forward to hearing from you.

In contrast to the closed version, our open fairlead is not screwed into place from above, instead it has four threaded rods that are pushed through the deck and fastened with nuts from below. Not a screw in sight! The open NOMEN fairlead impresses with its simple elegance and can be used in two ways.

1. The rope is simply placed in the open central guide for quick and easy mooring.

2. There are two outer closed guides for secure mooring.
